Objectify This

The egregious facts of the Megan Williams case must be an embarrassment to most Americans, because that’s the only lame excuse I can think of to explain why, as $3.60 points out, this is taking a backseat to Vanessa Hudgens in the nude.

According to the AP, a group of six white people kidnapped, sexually assaulted, and tortured the 20-year old Megan Williams, taunting her with racial slurs, forcing her to eat animal feces, stabbing her with a butcher knife, forcing her to drink their urine, pouring scalding water on her and choking her with a phone cord. They also told her that they were going to lynch her. These racist sickos are now standing trial for their crimes in West Virginia, where their fucked-up kidnapping took place. This case involves a kind of objectification that isn’t discussed enough on this site, which is racism. This kind of crime is so disturbing that I just want to puke, instead of analyzing it, but I think it’s important to talk about these things, because no matter how TOTALLY FUCKED UP they are, they’re not going to go away unless we address them.
